I am passionate about life coaching and sharing the power of positive emotions. I have found my calling in helping others find more purpose and joy in their lives.
My clients tell me that one of my greatest strengths is my ability to connect and quickly build trust with them. They feel safe disclosing deeply personal information and know that I am in their corner fighting to help them achieve what they want in their lives. I completed my coach certification (CPCC) through the Coaches Training Institute (CTI), one of the oldest and most well-known coach training programs in the world. I have also completed my certification work for the International Coaching Federation’s ACC certification. I was inspired to be a better person and a better coach by the full year of intensive training and supervised coaching I completed for these certifications.
I earned a Biochemistry degree from Brown University and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. My first career was on the business side of the biotechnology industry, where I was a business executive and venture capitalist. I still enjoy taking on exciting biotech strategy projects from time to time to keep that part of my brain fully engaged!
I have been studying happiness and positivity for more than 5 years and bring the best of scientific research, ancient wisdom and lessons from popular culture into my workshops and my coaching. I use my scientific training to understand the powerful research that is being done by top neurobiologists and psychologists and then translate it into practical advice that is interesting and accessible to non-scientists. Participants say that my dynamic style and authentic stories keep them engaged and motivated to integrate these happiness practices into their lives!
I am married to one of the most beautiful, strong and loving women in the world and have two young children who light up my life (and challenge me!) on a regular basis. I love spending time outdoors – at the beach, in the desert and in the mountains, hiking and camping. I also lead spin classes at 24 hour fitness. I’m an active member of the Unitarian Church of San Diego, love helping out at the kid’s school and regularly attend the Burning Man Festival. My greatest joy is in connecting deeply with people and helping them find more happiness and fulfillment in their lives.

* Karpo is a family nickname handed down among Karpinski’s for generations, influenced by the Marx brother of similar name (though quieter disposition 😉 ). I was exclusively known as Karpo in my college days and today am fully binomial!
